Bob
Vereen, who has been listed in WHO'S
WHO IN AMERICA for more than
two decades, has been active in industry associations
as well as an
active member of the hardware industry throughout
his career.
He
was with the National
Retail Hardware Association for more than
30
years, retiring as senior vice president, but
he also managed the
Worldwide DIY
Council for more than 20 years and was active
in the
Society
of National Association Publications, the
American Society
of
Business Press Editors, the American
Hardware Manufacturers
Association as a co-founder of the Young
Executives Group, and the
Hardware-Housewares Packaging Committee of the
Packaging Institute.
He's
been writing about the hardware industry since
1950, having
authored a number of major research publications
and two other books,
HUNTING FOR PROFIT, about the sporting
goods business and THE REP- FACTORY RELATIONSHIP
about the role of manufacturers' reps in the
hardware industry.
Currently,
he continues to write about the industry for
magazines in
half a dozen foreign countries.
